Leicester City: From rejects to Premier League champions
Kasper Schmeichel, Claudio Ranieri and Jamie Vardy
They were a team of cast-offs and bargain buys written off before the season had started, led by a manager who had been sacked in five of his previous jobs.
Leicester's incredible Premier League triumph has been built around £400,000 forward Riyad Mahrez and diminutive midfielder N'Golo Kante - both relative unknowns until this season - and a striker in Jamie Vardy who was still playing non-league football four years ago.
But this squad of freebies, basement buys and unknown imports have shocked the football world.
Along the way they won the hearts of neutral fans, became household names and fully fledged international stars.
These are the stories of the 14 key players from a team that cost less than £30m to assemble, but managed to topple the Premier League's elite.

Philippines election: Filipino boxing youth and politician Pacquiao
Manny Pacquiao boxing in Las Vegas (9 April 2016)
Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has left the ring for the political fight in the Philippines. Already a congressman, he is running for a senate seat in next week's elections.
Heather Chen, the BBC's social media producer in Asia, is in the capital, Manila and reporting daily on Snapchat. She went to a boxing gym to see how fellow fighters and Filipino youth see his ambition.

As you travel around Manila, election candidates are everywhere. Manny Pacquiao's image is no exception. I saw a photo from his boxing days covering a traditional cycle trishaw and its rider told me "Pacman will save us", before climbing on and pedalling off.

Pacquiao can rely on his fame and success to ensure adulation, but at one gym where Filipino boxers hang out, their champion's political ambition was up for debate.
"Whenever a Manny Pacquiao fight is on, the streets empty out and crime rate is zero because the entire nation drops everything to cheer him on."
Those were the words of Richard Monterey, an IT worker from Quezon City, on the political ambitions of Manny Pacquiao.

The first person I met at the gym was Mary Ann, who works on reception. She said she believed in the Sarangani politician. "I like him very much. He's a champion and he can fight for the Philippines in any kind of ring."

She introduced me to boxing coach and former champion Edel, enthusiastically working out his punches on a leather bag.
"Pacman is a world champion," he said, pointing to a wall of old victory photographs on the wall. "But I don't think that translates to politics in the Philippines, it's too complicated."
Some expressed concern about Mr Pacquiao's ability to make the transition towards the bigger stage: vice-president and one day, Philippine president - a position he has expressed interest in. Many wonder how he will juggle his political style with very serious and complex foreign policy issues, such as the Philippines' relationship with China.
Louie boxer
"Boxing and politics just don't mix," said Louie, an accountant and a student. "Manny Pacquiao has to realise what he brings to the ring isn't the same as leading a country."
Martial arts student Patrick Malsi shared similar sentiments about the former world champion. "Boxing doesn't translate to politics and it shouldn't. Filipinos who support him have to think about his political abilities in the long run."

The 29-year-old graphic designer also highlighted the "insensitivity" of the boxer, who made headlines in February after he said homosexuals were "worse than animals".
"I love him as a boxer but is that how we'd want a president of the Philippines to behave? It reflects badly on our society, not a good move."

"Filipinos love Manny: he brings our country pride and glory," said Julie Francisco, another student who was wrapping her hands in preparation for training.
"He takes down big names, but can he tackle corruption? That's the real question at hand."
Her coach held up his rubber wristbands that indicated his choices for president and vice-president: Rodrigo Duterte and Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos.
"Vote for Pacquiao? Let's see if he gets there first," he whispered.

Leicester City 'could make £150m from Premier League win'

Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City celebrates
Leicester City are set for a potential £150m boost for winning the Premier League title, analysts at sports data and marketing firm Repucom have said.

The sum comprises Premier League prize money, Champions League participation cash, and increased match day revenues from ticket and hospitality sales.
The Foxes will also enjoy a higher valuation of sponsorship assets, and a growth in fan bases globally, it said.
Leicester clinched a fairytale first championship on Monday evening.
Chelsea's 2-2 draw with second-placed Tottenham Hotspur meant the north London club could not catch Leicester.
The East Midlands club will now feature in the Uefa Champions League next season, taking them to an even larger European and world TV audience.
Social media surge
Spencer Nolan, head of consulting at Repucom UK and Ireland, said adding fans worldwide remained "central to realising the club's full potential as a commercial entity".
"While it is too early to really evaluate the rapidly growing fan bases we are starting to see across Asia for example, social media provides us an opportunity to start to quantify this surge."

Andriy Yarmolenko (left) and Taras Stepanenko on Ukraine international duty

Andriy Yarmolenko was sent off for kicking Ukraine team-mate Taras Stepanenko as a brawl marred a league match between their clubs.
Yarmolenko kicked Stepanenko after the Shakhtar Donetsk player kissed his badge and celebrated in front of Dynamo Kiev fans during his side's 3-0 win.

Both players were sent off - as were two of Stepanenko's team-mates.

"I'd like the whole country to know my friendship with Yarmolenko has ended," Stepanenko, 26, told the club website.

Yarmolenko, also 26, is likely to be given a lengthy ban.

Ukraine have been drawn in Group C with Germany, Poland and Northern Ireland for this summer's European Championship in France, which begins next month.

Coach Mykhaylo Fomenko said: "We have to sort this out so it does not affect our mission."

Burnley celebrate

The Clarets began the game at Turf Moor knowing a win would be enough to confirm a top-two finish after Brighton drew 1-1 with Derby earlier in the day.

After an edgy first hour, Sam Vokes headed in Dave Jones' free-kick to seal promotion at the first attempt.

Sean Dyche's side are only two points clear of Middlesbrough and Brighton, but cannot be overhauled by both as they face each other on the final day.

While Boro and Brighton fight for the remaining automatic promotion spot on Saturday, Burnley will be crowned champions if they win at relegated Charlton.

However, the Lancashire side were far from their best against mid-table Rangers and survived a scare when Alejandro Faurlin hit the post with a long-range drive with 20 minutes to play.

And now a chance at the other end! Harry Kane brings down a long ball forwards and it runs into the path of Son Heung-min, he bends a left-footed shot from 25 yards - but it's well wide in the end.

Ah cracking move from Chelsea! The Jamie Vardy party is almost in full swing as the Blues counter down their left, Diego Costa managing to spin in the D and find Cesc Fabregas arriving on his right, he goes for placement over power and sidefoots maybe three feet wide.

Kyle Walker is shown a yellow card for tripping Pedro in the build-up.

"Danny Rose is really playing well. I can't stress enough how well he has developed. He has added a lot of quality to his game. His touch is better and the two full-backs they have got are such an asset.

"Chelsea don't know what to do. Spurs are dictating this."

Chelsea playing some good stuff under duress as Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas piece together a one-touch passing triangle that would have been at home in the Chelsea side of late 2014. Lovely.
Neither side have hit the target yet though.

Mark Clattenburg has certainly 'let this one flow' at the quarter-way mark. It's not quite the 1970 FA Cup final but there are plenty of tackles going in. The Champions are sticking to the words of Eden Hazard - they don't want Spurs to win this.

"These are the risks Spurs are going to take because Mauricio Pochettino wants them to play like that."

Free-kick for Spurs, at least 30 yards out. Maybe nearer to 40. Up steps Harry Kane, who cracks a powerful effort in on goal, it is dipping and has Asmir Begovic worried - but it eventually clears the sticks.

At the other end Hugo Lloris then has to tip over Diego Costa's shot after Kyle Walker's stray pass.

There are goals in this...

That - is a brilliant, brilliant goal!
Harry Kane gives Tottenham the lead and maybe keeps this Premier League title race alive after all! Erik Lamela threads the pass through, Kane is just onside and he brilliantly dances around Asmir Begovic, keeps his balance and then rolls it home.
He needs one chance...

Kyle Walker has had a ragged evening so far but he continues to add all of the width on the right, allowing Christian Eriksen to come inside.
I'd be interested to know where people reckon these two sides will finish next season - but let's get this one out of the way first.

Atletico Madrid v Bayern Munich
Since losing the 2014 semi-final to Real Madrid, Bayern have won 11 successive home matches in the Champions League.

Victory on Tuesday would match Manchester United's record from 2006-09.

"We're very, very strong at home," said Bayern's World Cup-winning defender Jerome Boateng. "That's what we're counting on."

'We die for each other'

While Bayern are on the brink of winning their fourth successive Bundesliga title, Atletico remain firmly in the hunt in La Liga.

Simeone's side are level on points with leaders Barcelona with two matches of the domestic league season remaining.

Former Liverpool forward Fernando Torres said the team are reaping the rewards of their work ethic and unity.

"We die for each other," said the 32-year-old, a Champions League winner with Chelsea in 2012. "It's a battlefield out there.

"We are going out to win. We live the excitement of playing match by match and the situation we are in."

Coach Diego Simeone says Atletico Madrid will not sit back against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

Atletico arrived in Germany with a 1-0 advantage after Saul Niguez's first-leg goal at the Vicente Calderon.

Simeone said his side will look to kill off Bayern by scoring an away goal instead of trying to play for a 0-0 draw, which would take them through.

"I'm only interested in winning," he said. "That is what I prepare for."

While Bayern are five-time European champions, Atletico are trying to win the competition for the first time.

"We are going to be true to our style," said Simeone. "We will be ourselves.

"Whatever happens will depend on the mental strength of both teams.

"In the first leg we played in a way that feels good for us. On Tuesday we will see how strong both Bayern and we are."
